BankSheet vs DocuClipper
BankSheet (getbanksheet.com) is a bookkeeper converter for text-based bank statement PDFs. DocuClipper is a larger, established cloud product with OCR and more export formats. This page is a side-by-side for people who already know DocuClipper — not a claim that we replace it for every firm.
DocuClipper details below are from their public site as of September 2026 and may change. We do not republish their accuracy percentages or review scores. BankSheet does not publish an accuracy percentage either — we show the balance math on every file. Methodology: how we check balances.

Balance check
Both products talk about reconciliation. BankSheet (getbanksheet.com) treats it as a required panel, not an optional extra: opening balance + credits − debits versus the printed closing, within a two-cent tolerance. Status is pass, fail, or incomplete (labels missing). That is proof the extract ties — not a substitute for reconciling the bank feed in QuickBooks or Xero.
Privacy
BankSheet processes the PDF in memory and discards it after about 60 seconds. We do not keep a client statement library. That is a product choice: less convenient if you want to re-download last month’s file from our servers; better if you do not want another archive of client banking PDFs. DocuClipper is built as a workspace that stores conversions — useful for firms that want history. See our privacy page for what we do and do not log.
Pricing transparency
BankSheet publishes three numbers: free (10 pages), Starter ($29 for 200 pages), Pro ($79 for 1,000 pages). Full grid: pricing. DocuClipper sells by pages with more tiers; their public Starter allocation at $29 is 60 pages. At the same sticker price, BankSheet includes more pages. That does not make us “cheaper for every workflow” — OCR, QBO files, batch, and seat-unlimited workspace are features we simply do not sell.
When DocuClipper may still fit
- Most client statements are scans or phone photos.
- You need QBO, OFX, QFX, or QIF files, or a direct push into QuickBooks / Xero rather than a CSV mapping.
- You convert invoices, receipts, or tax forms in the same product.
- You batch hundreds of statements or need an API into your own pipeline.
- The firm wants a stored document library and pooled seats on one subscription.
When BankSheet (getbanksheet.com) fits
- You download text PDFs from bank portals (Chase, BofA, Wells Fargo, UK current accounts, Revolut, and similar).
- You want the opening-to-closing math on screen before the CSV leaves your browser session.
- You do not want another long-lived copy of client statements on a vendor disk.
- CSV or Excel with QuickBooks / Xero column presets is enough — see the QuickBooks and Xero import guides.
- You want a permanent free allowance to test real files, not only a trial clock.

FAQ
- Is BankSheet a DocuClipper clone?
- No. DocuClipper is a broader cloud document platform (statements plus invoices, receipts, OCR, QBO/OFX exports, batch, API). BankSheet (getbanksheet.com) is a narrower converter: text-based bank PDFs to Excel/CSV with a visible opening-to-closing balance check and ~60 second in-memory retention.
- Does BankSheet have OCR for scanned statements?
- No. BankSheet extracts text from digitally generated PDFs. Scanned or photographed statements are flagged as likely image-only and often will not parse. If most of your pack is scans, DocuClipper’s OCR is a better fit.
- Does BankSheet store client statements?
- No long-term archive. Uploads are processed in memory and discarded after about 60 seconds. PDF contents are not written to application logs. DocuClipper is a cloud workspace that keeps converted documents so teams can re-export — confirm their current retention on their site.
- How does pricing compare?
- As of September 2026, BankSheet Starter is $29/month for 200 pages, with a permanent free allowance of 10 pages. DocuClipper’s public pricing page lists a Starter plan from $29/month for 60 pages and a 14-day trial. Their volume tiers go higher. Always check both sites before buying.
- When should a bookkeeper stay on DocuClipper?
- Stay if you need OCR on scans, QBO/OFX/QFX/QIF files or a direct QuickBooks/Xero push, batch conversion of large packs, invoices and receipts in the same tool, an API, or a document library with multi-user access. BankSheet does not try to replace that stack.
