BankSheet (https://getbanksheet.com) converts bank statement PDFs into Excel/CSV for bookkeepers. We design the product so uploaded statements are not kept longer than needed to complete a conversion.
File processing, retention & deletion
- Uploaded PDFs are processed in memory on the server for text extraction and parsing. We do not write statement PDFs to durable object storage or a document vault.
- We do not offer long-term storage of client bank statements. Any ephemeral buffers are discarded quickly (about 60 seconds documented maximum retention).
- After a request finishes, derived data from that request is not kept as a stored statement archive. Download responses stream CSV/XLSX to your browser only.
- Deletion: because statement files are not retained beyond the short ephemeral window, there is typically nothing left to delete after conversion completes. If you believe we hold account or billing data about you, email privacy@getbanksheet.com and we will delete or anonymize eligible personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal, fraud, or accounting reasons.
What we never log
We never log PDF contents, extracted statement text, or transaction-level details from your uploads. Operational logs may include coarse request metadata (such as status codes, page counts, and generic error messages) only.
Account & billing data
Clerk authentication and Stripe billing are optional. If you enable them, those providers process account and payment data under their own policies. Without those keys, BankSheet runs in demo mode with cookie-based anonymous usage quotas only.
Your choices
- Do not upload statements you are not authorized to process.
- To request access, correction, or deletion of account/billing personal data (when Clerk/Stripe are enabled), contact privacy@getbanksheet.com.
