BankSheet

Add a free bank statement balance checker to your site

Give your clients or readers the same bank statement balance checker we host, inside your own page. Paste one iframe. It runs in the visitor's browser, so no statement is uploaded, and it follows light or dark mode.

Copy the embed code

Paste this where the checker should appear. It follows the visitor's light or dark setting; add ?theme=light or ?theme=dark to the src to fix one.

<iframe src="https://getbanksheet.com/embed/balance-checker"
        title="Bank statement balance checker"
        width="100%" height="720" loading="lazy"
        style="border:0;max-width:760px;width:100%"></iframe>

Optional credit line for under the iframe:

<p style="font-size:13px">Bank statement balance checker by <a href="https://getbanksheet.com/tools/bank-statement-balance-checker">BankSheet</a></p>

Usage terms

  • Free for any website, including client resource pages, courses and commercial blogs. No signup and no API key.
  • Keep the "Balance check by BankSheet" link inside the widget visible. Do not hide, cover or crop it.
  • The credit line under the iframe is optional. Remove it or mark it nofollow if your site's policy needs that.
  • Do not imply that BankSheet endorses your firm or reviewed your clients' statements.
  • The widget is provided as is. It checks arithmetic only; it does not categorise transactions or replace a reconciliation in your accounting software.

The “Balance check by BankSheet” link opens the full checker in a new tab.

Frequently asked questions

Is the embeddable balance checker free?

Yes. Paste the iframe code on any page. There is no signup, no API key and no usage limit, because the check runs in your visitor's browser.

Are my visitors' bank statements uploaded anywhere?

No. The CSV is read by JavaScript inside the widget and the result is built on the visitor's device. Nothing from the file is sent to BankSheet or to your site. The widget sets no cookies and loads no ad or tracking scripts.

What does the widget record?

One usage event per page load: the tool name, a rough row-count range, the outcome (for example pass or fail) and the host name of the page it is embedded on. Never dates, descriptions, amounts, balances, visitor ids or full page URLs.

Does it follow dark mode?

Yes. By default it follows the visitor's system light or dark setting. Add ?theme=light or ?theme=dark to the iframe src to fix one look.

Which files does it accept?

Bank CSV, TSV or text exports with a header row: one signed Amount column or separate Debit and Credit columns, with or without a running balance. It does not read PDF statements; BankSheet's converter turns a text-based PDF into CSV first.

Can I change the height?

Set the iframe height to fit your layout; 720 pixels shows the result without scrolling on most screens. The widget also posts its height to the parent page as a banksheet:embed-height message if you want to resize the frame with your own script.
